Catch American Ballet Theater summer performances before it’s too late

After three (long!) years, the American Ballet Theater (ABT) is officially back on stage at the Metropolitan Opera House. Be warned though: the company’s summer season is currently in full swing and will end by July 16, so be sure to catch one of the shows before then.

High point of the season, the New York premiere of Alexei Ratmansky Of love and rageoccurred earlier this month, as did twelve performances of Swan Lakebut you still have time to catch Kenneth MacMillan Romeo and Juliet. You’re going to have to act pretty fast, though.

Starting July 11, New Yorkers will be treated to a total of eight shows starring Hee Seo and Cory Stearns in the title roles. You can buy tickets for those who are right here.

A few things to keep in mind: Given the current world order, ticket holders can effectively exchange or refund their passes until 12:00 on the day of the performance at no additional cost. All audience members must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of their vaccination status in person when attending a performance. Keep in mind that a negative COVID-19 test will not be accepted as an alternative to said proof.

Given the few years we’ve just been through collectively, there’s just something about being a part of any sort of in-person cultural pursuit that tickles all of our senses, especially an elegant dance show that reminds us of the power of performance. live. See you at the ballet then?
