FIRST LOOK: Leslie Grace in Batgirl costume

As we know it, Leslie Grace (In the heights) will play Barbara Gordon in the next bat girl movie about HBO Max. Today, we can finally see her wearing the iconic costume!

Friday, Grace posted a photo on her Instagram finally sharing her version of Batgirl to the world. The caption for the photo is as follows:

I use their expectations against them. This will be their weakness. Not mine. Let them all underestimate me… and when their guard is down and their pride rises, let me kick their ass. – Batgirl, first year

Co-Director Adil El Arbi also shared a larger image on his instagram which confirmed the use of yellow combat boots.

From these images, it looks like HBOMax is opting for the 2014 redesign to Burnside’s Batgirl. The design also reminds me of the costume of DC super hero girls cartoon with a hint of Barbara’s costume from the original Batman TV series from the 60s. Personally, I love it. It’s a modern take on an icon look. One that we have yet to see in a Live-Action adaptation.

The film is led by Bills Fallah (bad boys for life) and is written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey / The Flash). The movie should have JK Simmons resume his role as Commissioner James Gordon, and Michael Keaton like Bruce Wayne/Batman. As good as, Brendan Fraser (Doom Patrol), and Jacob Scorpio who were cast in unknown roles.

There is no release date for the bat girl film at that time. Stay tuned This hashtag show for more HBO Max news.
