Texas Ballet Theater to present new performances for the first time in over a year

Update: Due to rehearsal delays related to the winter storm, the Texas Ballet Theater has postponed “The Story of You” and “VREC” from March 25 to April 9.

For the first time since February 2020, the Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) is presenting new performances – and bringing them straight to your electronic device this spring.

The company’s dancers choreographed these four ballets for their world premiere. Due to COVID-19, in-person performance had to move to an online platform.

“The Story of You” by Carl Coomer and “VREC” by Riley Moyano will be available on the TBT website from March 18 to April 2. “Bloom” by Andre Silva and the Nameless Ballet by Jiyan Dai will be available from April 15 to 30. It is the first time that Jiyan and Moyano have seen their work presented by TBT.

“COVID-19 disrupted our initial plans for the spring, as it did for so many other organizations,” Executive Director Vanessa Logan said in a statement. “However, this disruption created an incredible opportunity for this group of dancer-choreographers. We look forward to sharing their creativity and innovation with our customers.

Tickets cost $ 30 per household and can be purchased at TBT website.
