The eleven performers of the Philippine Ballet Theater put on their dancing shoes and took to the stage at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Cultural and Artistic Center in time for the celebration of National Heritage Month and the 103rd birthday of the city’s late mayor. de Victorias, Remedios Palanca – Bantug on Thursday 26 March 2022.

They present new pieces choreographed by artistic director Ronilo Jaynario, entitled “Take the Next Step”.

They dance to music by Jose Mari Chan, Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, Calum Scott, James Blunt, Pharell Williams, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

The show was made possible by the office of Negros Occidental Third District Representative Jose Francisco “Kiko” Bantug Benitez, in cooperation with the City of Victorias under the leadership of Mayor Francis Frederick P. Palanca, in observance of the Month of the national heritage.

Eleven talented performers from the classical ballet company presented new pieces depicting a celebration of life amid crisis. They shared their thoughts while dancing to popular music from yesterday and today.

The Victorias City Administrator’s Office facilitated the event which amazed ballet lovers and sparked a new appreciation for culture and the arts with their performance in Victorias and the neighboring towns of Silay and Talisay.

Philippine Ballet Theater Artistic Director Ronilo Jaynario said ballet dancers who performed were Gab Jaynario, Gladys Baybayan, Therese Riego, Mara Francisco, Bela Bellosillo, Tessa Tordesillas, Sophie Tiangco, Matthew Davo, Jimmy Lumba, Alexis Piel and Carl Lacaba. The production team consisted of Mai Reyes, Mico Gregorio and Roldan Lozano.
