“We had planned to present Don Quixote several years ago, but we had to postpone the production because of the pandemic,” said artistic directors Mara Vinson and Oleg Gorboulev. “It’s exciting to finally be able to see our vision for this ballet come to life and to give the dancers of our company and the students of the Olympic Ballet School the opportunity to perform so many of these iconic roles.” As part of community outreach efforts to introduce the public to the art of ballet and the classic Don Quixote novel, the OBT is offering a touring exhibit of production materials to local libraries and a bookstore in Edmonds. Over the past two months, visitors to Lynnwood Library, Edmonds Bookstore and Edmonds Library have enjoyed a display of sparkling tutus and bullfighter costumes, fun accessories and even a glimpse of a miniature stage model with a sketch of each background. . “We hope to share this wonderful story with more families in our community and spark children’s interest in the performing arts,” said Gorboulev and Vinson.
