In-Person Training Event: Resume Development Thursdays, January 6 and 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Triad Goodwill Career Center, 1235 S. Eugene St. Greensboro. Learn how to strengthen your resume appropriately and how to incorporate work experience gained while incarcerated. This will include: Defining what a CV is and its purpose, Learning different CV formats and the pros and cons of each, Creating step-by-step the most common sections found on CVs, Knowing ways to strengthen your CV in a appropriate, learning what information to include and pitfalls to avoid, and preparing and writing your CV. register here


Virtual Training Event: Microsoft Mondays: Excel Pivot Tables, Monday, January 10 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. via Zoom. The Pivot Tables course is an introduction to the fundamentals of using Pivot Tables in Microsoft Excel. In the course, participants will learn: how to create a pivot table from a spreadsheet of data, filter and slice data from a table, manage subtotals and grand totals, and group the fields of the pivot table. register here

In-Person Training Event: How to Tell Your Story, Thursdays, January 13 and 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Triad Goodwill’s Career Center at 1235 S. Eugene St. in Greensboro. Learn to articulate your skills, strengths and work experiences; practice answering difficult/uncomfortable questions, such as criminal history. This will include: Focusing on interview preparation Learning how to answer different types of interview questions Learning how to articulate skills, strengths and work experience Learning and practicing how to answer difficult or uncomfortable questions , such as gaps in work experience, criminal history, illegal interview questions, etc. Plus, learning and being able to employ effective and successful follow-up strategies, the keys to branding yourself and identifying appropriate attire for an interview. register here


Virtual training event: Microsoft Mondays: Using Microsoft Teams, Monday January 17 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. via Zoom. Microsoft Teams is one of the best collaborative software packages on the market today. During this course, participants will learn the overview of Microsoft Teams and how it can be used for collaboration, meetings, calendars, and more. register here


Virtual training event: Microsoft Mondays: Outlook, Monday, January 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. via Zoom. Navigating through emails and keeping track of everything is a huge hill to climb. Microsoft Outlook email software has excellent features to manage and organize emails, tasks, meetings, contacts, etc. This course teaches participants how to use these features for greater efficiency and time management. register here


Virtual Training Event: Microsoft MondaysExcel formulas, Monday, January 31, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. via Zoom. In the Excel Formulas course, participants will learn how to read and write formulas for everyday calculations and analysis, as well as learn several formulas and functions for use in spreadsheet development. This includes: operators and operator precedence in formulas, how to create basic formulas using functions, understanding relative, absolute, and mixed cell references, reading formulas embedded in existing spreadsheets, and writing several formulas and functions to use in spreadsheets. register here

Outreach Orientation (In-Person Continuing Education) Triad Goodwill presents the orientation of the Outreach Program. Find out how this program can help you explore opportunities, learn skills, and market yourself for success. Orientation takes place Every Mondayfrom 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at our 1235 Eugene Street Greensboro, NC Career Center. Registration required. HVAC Certification Program! Information sessions every day

In-Person Information Session: HVAC Certification Programdaily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Triad Goodwill Career Center, 1235 S. Eugene St. Greensboro NC 27406. Looking for a career change with great earning potential? The starting salary for entry-level positions as an HVAC technician averages $18 per hour. We recently partnered with Maintenance Heroes (a division of heroes of the occupation Incorporated) and the local non-profit organization Reading connections to provide an exceptional HVAC training program to all interested adults in Central North Carolina. Additionally, we have partnered with WRLP (Welfare Reform Liaison Project) to provide support services to qualified individuals. The sessions will provide individuals with information about the HVAC program, earning potential, as well as other professional development offerings available to them! Register here.
