Wet Leg released a video for their recent single “Oh No.”
“Oh No” comes from Wet Leg’s highly anticipated self-titled debut album, which will be released April 8 via Domino. Just like with the videos for “Wet Dream” and “Chaise Longue”, the group self-directed the video. Throughout the clip, Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers dance in an elaborate costume made of ropes.
“The video was shot on the Isle of Wight at the bottom of a charlift that you can take off the top of the cliff,” Teasdale says of the new Wet Leg video. “The rope costume – made by costume designer Kate Tabor – weighed an absolute ton and it took three of us to carry it down the cliff to spin. We were each grabbing a branch and after 20 minutes of lifting loads heavy, we managed to get her down the steep steps to the beach. We plan to launch it as a practice class for the alt-types.

“The comments that complete strangers will leave on our videos are so funny and vary wildly in sentiment,” Teasdale continues. “Although we know it is bad for us to read them and we try to avoid it, sometimes it is overwhelming when you are alone; the 3am scroll of fate really grabs you. For this video, we obsessively picked our favorite tracks from our social media comment sections, the good, the bad, the ugly and repurposed them to create something new – it was quite cathartic actually.
